Every person has experienced a period of time in his or her life that they used to impress others and themselves with their hard work, high level of energy and enthusiasm.

But a much less percentage of these people stay in such a performance throughout their entire life.

Success through hardworking is not some temporally to come and go. It’s a habit to build and keep it and to gradually see its fruit.

Have you ever heard of a guy talking about himself and telling how diligent he was one day? That when he was at school he used to study hard and kept impressing everyone with his great scores? Or the one who talks about a period in her career that she shined like a star in the company that she was working and the progress that she had and the contributions that she made. The story of greatness in a period (often short period) of time in our lives is not uncommon. Almost all of us had such stories in our memory of the past. These are the stories that we talk about with pride and joy.

These stories prove the fact that if the situation is right, we can shine as an individual or collectively as a team. So these stories tell us that when two factors are aligned with each other it provides an optimal situation for us. The factor of personal readiness to perform greatly and the external factor of the environment that allows us to perform in our best.

As you know, the first factor is in our circle of influence. It means that it’s in our own domain of personal power to keep ourselves at a high level of performance. The external factor is something that is not always in our favor. Waiting to only perform in our greatness when the external factors are ideal will only put us to experience success based on occasional opportunities. Building the discipline to perform with excellence and bring our best in any situation—whether favorable or not—will make us stand out of the crowd and shine like a star.

It’s not easy to shine regardless of the external conditions. But if you start small and build the habit of working consistently with diligence and commitment to excellence, gradually you will build the personal power of performing at a high level even in unfavorable conditions. This ability helps you stand out from the crowd and achieve goals that appear impossible for an average person.
