Obstinacy comes from fear. No wonder those societies which are governed mainly by fear are filled with bias and rigidity of minds. Keeping an open mind and daring to see things totally differently than how you have seen, requires courage. Courage is a quality that anyone can develop. Those who can’t get out of their rigid minds haven’t developed the courage for it.
You see the world better and you see it more beautiful when you open your mind for more possibilities. Thoughts are like water that makes your mind moisturized. But you need to keep the pipes open in order to receive fresh water and get rid of the spoiled parts.
It’s a good practice that we occasionally meet with people who have different opinions, believe in different religions, support different political parties or love what we might hate and listen to them as if they are our teachers and we are their students. To learn what they’ve got to say, and get a new understanding of what we thought we understood before.
