When you are afraid you start acting foolishly and as a result you lose your direction.
When the situation doesn’t turn out to be how you initially hoped it to be, you face the fear of failure and humiliation. If you are not strong enough you succumb to this fear and you start acting not based on rational thinking but based on fear. You think you are rational and want to be realistic but what you are really doing is the opposite, you are acting foolishly out of fear. Continuing this pattern will gradually speed up the process toward your failure unless you realize your mistake and stop it somewhere.
The alternative is to stay committed to the direction of your journey, evaluate the situation regularly and stay flexible. Don’t rush to change the plans or totally give up on your journey, but to try something new, take small new risks and find your way out of the unpleasant situation.
