When you don’t know why you want what you want, you end up in one of these doomed situations. At the end of your journey, you either get what you want or you don’t get what you want.
When you get what you want, you will start questioning what you should have questioned at the beginning. “Why I’ve wanted this so badly”? And since you don’t have a clear answer for it, you will wonder sadly and regretfully whether it’s been worth it to spend your life, all those moments that you could happily spend in more important things but chasing something so unimportant.
Or you may never get what you want and you will chase after it until it’s the end of the line for you. Now you’ve failed in something that you didn’t even know why you wanted it. In such a scenario, not only you went after something you didn’t really care about, you even failed to experience how it would feel like if you could have it.
Having a clear sense of purpose is the first step of any journey. Don’t start chasing after the rabbit just because everybody else is doing it.
